Chunky Chicken Sausage Sauce with Tortellini


  • 2 Tbsp. olive oil
  • 1 cup chopped carrot
  • 1 cup chopped sweet onion
  • 1 lb. chicken sausage or sweet Italian sausage , removed from casing and crumbled
  • 1/4 cup dry red wine or chicken broth
  • 3/4 cup chicken broth
  • 1 jar (1 lb. 8 oz.) Ragu® Sauce
  • 1 package (12 oz.) frozen tortellini or fresh tortellini, cooked and drained


  1. Heat olive oil in 5-quart saucepot over medium-high heat and cook carrots and onions, stirring occasionally, 5 minutes. Add sausage and cook, stirring occasionally, until browned. Stir in wine and cook 1 minute, scraping up brown bits from bottom of pan. Add broth and Sauce. Bring to a boil over high heat. Reduce heat to low and simmer uncovered, stirring occasionally, 15 minutes. Toss with hot tortellini and garnish, if desired, with grated Parmesan cheese and ground black pepper.
